#AmWriting
Getting back into the routine of writing has been hard recently. (see the link to my latest blog post below) . Looking back, I realize this lag is part of my norm. It happens every time. I’m praying this will change.
But I’ve been doing a lot of reading, so I’m not complaining too much.
After you read this, I’d like to know what you’re reading and why – post your thoughts in the comments.
#AmBlogging
I didn’t get much blogging done this month, although I posted a couple of things on my FB Author Page. Have you looked there yet? You can check it out HERE. https://www.facebook.com/JoyDeKokAuthorBlogger

#AmReading
Here are a couple of books I’ve enjoyed in the last couple of weeks:
Looking for a sweet, clean, fun, romantic comedy?
Although I’m sure I’m older than the author, this book brought back memories from my own teen and young adult years, including children being airlifted out of Saigon. I saw the news in my mind and cried – again. Such a good book!
On my #ToBeReadList:
If you know me, you know that I love this series by Heather Day Gilbert!
And this one by Charles Martin. Sometimes fiction can go where other forms of art cannot. This is one of those series. Start with book one, The Water Keeper. This is not an easy read, but it is riveting.
Until Next Time,
Joy
Oh, my sweet friend! I am always so happy to hear from you. I am praying for you, your energy, your focus, etc. But I am also praying you will experience God in a beautiful new way every day He gives you breath.
You asked what I’m reading:
Today is Going To Be a Good Day by Dr. Michelle Bengtson.
I am confident you can relate to her and her cancer struggles. But these devotionals are powerful! They keep me focusing on Jesus rather than the chaos around me.
I’m also reading Atomic Habits by James Clear
This book has helped me get my feet back under me after coming out of a VERY long wilderness season. I’m making a lot of small changes in my life, my faith, and my fitness/health–and I’m already feeling the difference in my own way of thinking and confidence.
Kingdom Woman by Tony Evans and Crystal Evans Hurst is next.
I love Tony and the way he challenges me. he can do it like few other authors can.
I’m reading Michelle’s book Today is Going to Be A Good Day too! It’s good! I’m going to look into the others. 🙂 Thank You for your prayers – I’m lifting you to Him today too!
I just love this series. I have listened to it in the past. I have enjoye several of Charles martins books. I just Bought The Water Keeper for a good friend for her birthday., but decided to listen to it again before I gave her the book. Now I am wondering if I made the right choice in books. The begining is so seeped in death, that it might be hard for my friend to read. Her only son died of a heart attack a few month ago.
I have not finished the book again , nor have I finished praying, but would appreciate any imput you wanted to give me.
Your book Rain Dance is one of my top ten favorite books! I have had 2 abortions, so it is a book I can relate to.Thank you for ministering to so many.
God bless you,
I’m so thankful Rain Dance is one of your favorites! Thank you for encouraging me. This series of books by Charles Martin is difficult – child abuse in any form is. I don’t know your friend, but perhaps you could discuss it with her – give her a gentle warning and leave it up to her. Or offer to discuss the book together. It’s very cool that you are praying for her and how to approach the subject with her.
